Background

Prairie Brokerage Owner Wayne Doerksen grew up in the restaurant industry, starting as a dishwasher at a young age. His passion for food only grew as he attended culinary school in Winnipeg, Manitoba and went on to become a chef at several top restaurants. Wanting a change in his career, but still having a passion for food, Wayne made the leap into the business world where he helped bring a small natural and organic distribution company from a basement start-up to the primary prairie distributor in this category. 

Fast forward to today, where Wayne is following his natural entrepreneurial spirit with the opening of his brokerage firm, Prairie Brokerage. Prairie Brokerage is a niche brokerage firm that offers natural product representation and brand management for the prairie provinces of Canada. Wayne believes in partnerships that help businesses succeed, by working together to help achieve each client's unique needs. This attitude, combined with his hard work ethic and experience sets him, and Prairie Brokerage, apart in the marketplace.

Wayne Doersksen   

  • Wayne has eight years of experience in relationship building, brand management, natural food product sourcing, and distribution for the prairie region.  

  • His passion for food started at an early age which led him to pursue a career in the culinary arts, where he later became a chef in some of Winnipeg’s finest restaurants.

  • His experience, combined with his genuine personality and hardworking attitude, allowed him to bring a small food distribution company from $100,000 to $2.5 million per year in sales in a few short years.  

  • Wayne’s sales success can be attributed to his pursuant nature and personable attitude, with a strong work ethic that does not stop until the job is done.

Arielle Gurevich

  • Arielle has over ten years of professional experience in conceptualizing, creating, and implementing a range of marketing and communications plans that consist of traditional and nontraditional mediums, including social media and online marketing.

  • Additional areas of strength include advertising, public and media relations, social media planning and implementation, website development and content management, customer service, and development of content for corporate publications.
